On 14 November 2025, Dean of the School of Social Innovation, Mae Fah Luang University, Dr. Thanikun Chantra, was invited to be a panelist, alongside the Education and Culture Attache, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Cyti Daniela Aruan, to elaborate on the role of higher education in achieving well-being and sustainable development in ASEAN, moderated by Ms. Reni Juwitasari, ARCID, School of Social Innovation. This event was part of Indonesian Day 2025, marking the 75th Anniversary of Thailand-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations.
The discussion represents the deep and enduring collaboration between our two nations, not only at the diplomatic level but through universities, educators, and young people who are shaping the future of Southeast Asia. Higher education remains one of the most powerful drivers of human well-being and sustainable development. This discussion emphasizes the linkage among SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, and SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals, which higher education frameworks are grounded in social inclusion and well-being, bringing real change to communities, families, and the next generation.
