SDG Talk #4: “Reimagining SDG 16: Justice, Power, and Institutions in a Changing World”

School of Social Innovation, Mae Fah Luang University, successfully hosted online SDG Talk #4: “Reimagining SDG 16: Justice, Power, and Institutions in a Changing World” on 2 April 2026.

This session was part of the Master of Arts in International Development programme, designed to connect classroom learning with critical global debates on governance, justice, and development.

We were honoured to welcome Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Wahyudi from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)- Indonesia, whose lecture examined how power structures shape justice systems and institutional practices across contexts. The session encouraged participants to move beyond formal definitions of justice and reflect on how it is experienced in everyday life.

The discussion reinforced that advancing SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) requires continuous engagement with inequality, inclusion, and governance practices. It also highlighted the role of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through academic collaboration and knowledge exchange across institutions.

We thank all participants for their active participation and thoughtful discussion.
