On 6 January 2026, the School of Social Innovation, Mae Fah Luang University, hosted a strategic dialogue with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Yamagata University, reaffirming a joint commitment to building impactful, long-term academic partnerships between Thailand and Japan.

The meeting focused on translating collaboration into measurable outcomes, including undergraduate and graduate exchange programs, co-designed curricula in social sciences and international development, visiting scholar mobility, joint academic platforms, and the development of a Double Degree Program with shared thesis supervision, targeted for launch in 2028.
This partnership reflects the School of Social Innovation’s mission to operationalize SDG 17 by connecting institutions, knowledge systems, and students across borders. It positions higher education as an active driver of global cooperation, shared learning, and collective responsibility for sustainable development.
