“Climate change is becoming more severe. Delaying effective action will worsen the impacts and make adaptation harder.”
At the School of Social Innovation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanwalee Inpin, Lecturer, teaches Disaster Risk Reduction, Good Governance in International Development, Reading in International Development, Transparency and Good Governance in Development, and Transformational Leadership. Her courses equip students with critical analytical and leadership skills needed to strengthen governance, reduce risk, and support inclusive and resilient development.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanwalee views the SDGs as a roadmap that guides development toward equity, resilience, and inclusion. She emphasizes that the SDGs play a crucial role in preventing vulnerable groups from being left behind, as the framework focuses on reducing inequalities both within and across countries. For her, the SDGs are not only policy targets but a collective commitment to protect those at highest risk and to advance development that is fair and sustainable.
Her key priority is SDG 13: Climate Action, grounded in her work on climate governance and risk reduction. She warns that climate change is accelerating, and delaying action will intensify impacts and limit communities’ ability to adapt. For Dr. Wanwalee, the pressing question is whether we are ready to take meaningful action now, before the window for effective response closes.

ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วรรณวลี อินปิน อาจารย์ประจำ ถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ผ่านรายวิชา การลดความเสี่ยงจากภัยพิบัติ ธรรมาภิบาลในความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศเพื่อการพัฒนา การอ่านวรรณกรรมด้านการพัฒนาระหว่างประเทศ ความโปร่งใสและธรรมาภิบาลในงานพัฒนา และ ภาวะผู้นำเพื่อการเปลี่ยนแปลง
รายวิชาเหล่านี้ช่วยเสริมทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์และภาวะผู้นำที่สำคัญสำหรับการเสริมสร้างธรรมาภิบาล ลดความเสี่ยง และสนับสนุนการพัฒนาที่ครอบคลุมและมีความยืดหยุ่น
ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วรรณวลี มองว่า SDGs เป็นแผนที่นำทางการพัฒนาไปสู่ ความเท่าเทียม ความยืดหยุ่น และการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างครอบคลุม
เธอย้ำว่า SDGs มีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการป้องกันไม่ให้กลุ่มเปราะบางถูกทอดทิ้ง เพราะกรอบการพัฒนานี้ให้ความสำคัญกับการลดความเหลื่อมล้ำทั้งภายในประเทศและระหว่างประเทศ
สำหรับเธอ SDGs ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงตัวชี้วัดเชิงนโยบาย แต่เป็น พันธสัญญาร่วมกัน ในการปกป้องผู้ที่มีความเสี่ยงสูงสุด และผลักดันการพัฒนาที่เป็นธรรมและยั่งยืน
เป้าหมายหลักของเธอคือ SDG 13: การรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ
ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนฐานงานวิจัยด้านธรรมาภิบาลภูมิอากาศและการลดความเสี่ยง เธอเตือนว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศกำลังเร่งตัวขึ้น และการชะลอการลงมือจะยิ่งทำให้ผลกระทบรุนแรงขึ้นและจำกัดความสามารถในการปรับตัวของชุมชน
สำหรับ ดร.วรรณวลี คำถามสำคัญที่สุดคือ เราพร้อมหรือยังที่จะลงมือทำอย่างจริงจัง ก่อนที่โอกาสในการรับมืออย่างมีประสิทธิภาพจะปิดลง
