At the School of Social Innovation, Dr. Sawang Meesang, Lecturer, teaches Introduction to Community Development, International Politics of Environment and Urbanization, Rural Transformation, and Agricultural Restructuring.
His research focuses on food security, sustainable livelihoods among coffee growers in Chiang Rai, labor in coffee cultivation in Pang Khon District, and lunch management to reduce aflatoxin contamination. Through his work, he links community development, environmental politics, and sustainable agriculture—empowering local communities toward resilience and well-being.
His key priorities are SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), emphasizing that ending poverty is the foundation for achieving all other goals, as it reduces hunger and promotes equality and fairness. He also highlights SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land) as central to building sustainable and resilient societies.

ดร.สว่าง มีแสง อาจารย์ประจำสำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคม
ถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ผ่านรายวิชา การพัฒนาชุมชนเบื้องต้น การเมืองระหว่างประเทศด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและความเป็นเมือง การเปลี่ยนผ่านสังคมชนบท และ การปรับโครงสร้างภาคการเกษตร
งานวิจัยของเขามุ่งเน้นด้าน ความมั่นคงทางอาหาร การสร้างวิถีชีวิตที่ยั่งยืนของเกษตรกรกาแฟในจังหวัดเชียงราย แรงงานในสวนกาแฟที่อำเภอปางขอน และ การบริหารจัดการอาหารกลางวันเพื่อลดการปนเปื้อนอะฟลาทอกซิน ผ่านการทำงานเหล่านี้ เขาเชื่อมโยงการพัฒนาชุมชน การเมืองเชิงสิ่งแวดล้อม และเกษตรกรรมที่ยั่งยืน เพื่อเสริมพลังให้ชุมชนท้องถิ่นมีความเข้มแข็งและมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น
เป้าหมายหลักของเขาคือ SDG 1 (ขจัดความยากจน) และ SDG 2 (ขจัดความหิวโหย) โดยเน้นว่าการยุติความยากจนเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนข้ออื่น ๆ เพราะช่วยลดความหิวโหยและส่งเสริมความเสมอภาคและความเป็นธรรม เขายังให้ความสำคัญกับ SDG 11 (เมืองและชุมชนยั่งยืน) SDG 13 (การรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ) SDG 14 (ชีวิตใต้น้ำ) และ SDG 15 (ชีวิตบนบก) ซึ่งเป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญของการสร้างสังคมที่เข้มแข็งและยั่งยืน
