Ajarn Dr. Jaruwan Hatapasu (the Assistant Dean) and Ms. Thikhumphorn Singtomast, a researcher from Area-based Innovation Research Center, participated in and presented their research at the 8th Conference of the Asian Borderlands Research Network, held at National Taiwan University, Taiwan, during 13–15 January 2026.

Ms Thikhumphorn Singtomast presented the paper entitled “Bodies as Materiality and Necromobility on the Thai–Myanmar Border,” while Dr. Jaruwan Hatapasu presented “The Influence of Borders on Collective Memory through the ‘Amazing 10 Ethnic Groups’ Fair in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai Province.” The presentations were delivered under the panel “Mobility, Materiality, and Memory on the Borders,” and contributed to the advancement of academic discourse and international scholarly exchange in the field of Asian borderlands studies.
