“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are built on noble intentions, but their impact depends on how they are applied. A one-size-fits-all model cannot work for every community. Development must adapt to context, culture, and local realities.”
At the School of Social Innovation, Miss Omsin Boonleart, Researcher at the Area-Based Social Innovation Research Center (AB-SIRC), conducts research on development in the Global South, with particular attention to the transformation of agrarian communities. Her work draws on extensive experience in advocacy-oriented research on migration, development, and natural resource management in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
Miss Omsin approaches the SDGs through a critical and reflective lens, emphasizing that development frameworks must be locally grounded to be sustainable. She highlights the importance of contextualizing global initiatives so that they empower communities rather than marginalize them, ensuring that development responds to lived realities and local needs.
Her key priority is SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), with a focus on promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth, achieving full and productive employment, and advancing decent work for all.

“เป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) ถูกสร้างขึ้นบนเจตนารมณ์ที่ดีงาม แต่ผลลัพธ์จะเกิดขึ้นได้จริงหรือไม่ขึ้นอยู่กับวิธีการนำไปใช้ โมเดลแบบเหมารวมที่ใช้แนวทางเดียวกับทุกพื้นที่ไม่อาจใช้ได้กับทุกชุมชน การพัฒนาจำเป็นต้องปรับให้สอดคล้องกับบริบท วัฒนธรรม และความเป็นจริงในระดับท้องถิ่น”

นางสาวออมสิน บุญเลิศ นักวิจัยประจำ ศูนย์วิจัยนวัตกรรมสังคมเชิงพื้นที่ (Area-Based Social Innovation Research Center: AB-SIRC) ดำเนินงานวิจัยด้านการพัฒนาใน โลกซีกใต้ (Global South) โดยให้ความสำคัญเป็นพิเศษกับการเปลี่ยนผ่านของชุมชนเกษตรกรรม งานของเธออาศัยประสบการณ์อย่างยาวนานในงานวิจัยเชิงสนับสนุนเชิงนโยบาย (advocacy research) ด้าน การย้ายถิ่น การพัฒนา และการจัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ในประเทศไทยและอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง
นางสาวออมสินมอง SDGs ผ่าน มุมมองเชิงวิพากษ์และการใคร่ครวญ โดยเน้นว่ากรอบการพัฒนาจำเป็นต้อง ยึดโยงกับพื้นที่และบริบทท้องถิ่น จึงจะนำไปสู่ความยั่งยืนอย่างแท้จริง เธอชี้ให้เห็นความสำคัญของการปรับใช้โครงการระดับโลกให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทพื้นที่ เพื่อให้โครงการเหล่านั้น เสริมพลังแก่ชุมชน แทนที่จะสร้างการกีดกันหรือซ้ำเติมความเปราะบาง และตอบสนองต่อความเป็นจริงในชีวิตของผู้คน
เป้าหมายหลักของเธอคือ SDG 8 (งานที่มีคุณค่าและการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ) โดยมุ่งส่งเสริม การเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจที่ยั่งยืนและครอบคลุม การมีงานทำอย่างเต็มศักยภาพ และการยกระดับ งานที่มีคุณค่าและมีศักดิ์ศรีสำหรับทุกคน
